The Truth about HJR5

    • Hi Lynda, good question! No, nothing changes from how things are happening now in Idaho. For about 40 years we have operated this way and has been law. We are asking voters to protect this law and make it part of the State Constitution. In 1989 this law was challenged by our then Attorney General, suing the Legislature.

I’m sure you can imagine the legal bills that the taxpayers incurred.

The State Supreme Court ruled by one vote that the Legislature had the right to review administration rules of their laws.

No change, we just want to keep our Lawmakers accountable and protect this important law. Hope that helps.
